How we help
By arranging the purchase and delivery of aid, items such as building materials, food packages, blankets, seasonal clothes and medicine. Co-operating with others to get aid to the right place.
How we achieve this
We liaise with our counterparts on the ground in the area, who direct us towards those in adverse circumstances, whether caused by natural disaster, access to health care, food or housing. Often it is difficult to uncover those hidden from site — such as those who have no relatives or permanent housing. Our counterparts also direct us towards identifying and facilitating ways of meeting those needs. These dedicated volunteers gather information and evaluate people’s requirements, working tirelessly to get timely relief to those who need it the most.
Future projects
We have a longsighted vision to improve the quality of life in the area. Our future projects may include developing:
• Small workshops to enable people to learn new skills with a view to enabling them to earn incomes with dignity.
• A programme sponsoring impoverished children so they can access education, which will take them a step nearer to a brighter tomorrow, allowing them to stand on their own feet.
• Medical clinics in remote areas, to reduce the need for the sick, frail and elderly to travel.
• Increased family support: by next year, we hope to be supporting 500 families.
